How to knead pizza dough

There’s no need to be intimidated by pizza dough! With a little practice, you’ll be able to master the art of kneading in no time. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Start with a small amount of flour on your work surface. Make a well in the center of the flour and add water, a little at a time, until you have a moist dough.

2. Begin kneading the dough by pushing it away from you with the heels of your hands. Fold the dough over and press down again. Repeat this motion until the dough is smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.

3. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. If it’s too dry, add a little more water.

4. Once you’ve perfected your dough, shape it into a ball and let it rest, covered, for 30 minutes before using.

5. You may also wish to roll and spin your dough.
